Camp Oakes Resident Camp:

Summer Resident Camping is a YMCA tradition without equal. We offer a traditional Summer Resident Camp program with all of the classic Summer Camp activities.  Children learn about the outdoors, build meaningful and lasting friendships, and develop memories that will last through the years.

2012 Resident Camp Schedule:

Saturday, July 7th to Saturday, July 14th, 2012

Camp Oakes: Ages 8-13

Camp Oakes, located in the San Bernardino Mountains near Big Bear City, features the best in resident camping with horseback riding, swimming, kayaking and canoeing on the lake, archery, nature lore and low and high Ropes Courses to teach teamwork and self-confidence. All campers join in the fun at Camp Oakes’ famous Campfire program with songs, skits, and crazy stunts.

Camp Oakes Leadership: Ages: 14-15

The West End Y’s Leadership training program offers younger teens the opportunity to learn leadership skills in a resident camp setting. Leadership campers participate in all regular camp activities while learning about leadership techniques, problem solving, and camp skills. These programs are a great stepping stone for future camp counselors.
