Are Memberships Available for Military?

The Department of Defense has contracted with the Armed Services YMCA to fund memberships at participating YMCAs throughout the United States and Puerto Rico for the Title 10 DoD Military Groups listed below. While this list provides a quick overview, it's important to click here for full eligibility requirements.

  • Families of deployed National Guard and Reserves

  • Relocated spouse/dependent children of deployed active duty personnel

  • Active duty assigned to independent duty

  • Community based wounded warrior transition unit

The DoD will underwrite memberships at participating Ys for an initial six-month period for each eligible family and service member. Membership renewals in subsequent six-month intervals (up to 12 or 18 months depending on eligibility) will be funded based on a military family's or service member's ability to meet the participation requirement of eight visits to a YMCA each month.

  • Contact Military OneSource, or 1-800-342-9647, to confirm eligibility and receive an eligibility form.

  • Bring your completed eligibility form, Military ID and other required documentation (generally your Deployment Orders or Military Service Headquarters approval letter) to your closest Y branch for verification (do not leave copies at the Y)

Information for Charter Schools

We are here for our community! We are currently partners with:

  • Epic Charter Schools

  • iLead Exploration

  • Inspire Charter Services

    • Including Blue Ridge, Cabrillo Point Academy, Granite Mountain, and Mission Vista Academy.

  • Sage Oak Charter Schools

  • Empire Springs Charter School

Please search for West End YMCA as the vendor. It works for all of our program locations including the Chino Valley YMCA and the Scheu Family YMCA of Upland.

We accept purchase orders (PO) for everything we offer. When you apply for your first PO with your teacher for one of our programs please create a “non-member” membership (link to Daxko registration) at your preferred branch so that you are in our system which will help prevent any potential delay in registration. A detailed PO is also helpful in expediting your child’s registration.

Completed PO’s are due to the YMCA at least a week before the registration deadline or program start date to allow time for processing. Please note that all programs are available on a first come basis and classes can fill so the earlier the better.

For more information or if your school is not on the above list please contact Andrea at [email protected].
